About Us
Healing Roots Foundation was created with one simple goal: to help people in any way we can.
We have seen firsthand how addiction and mental health struggles affect individuals, families, and entire communities. We also know how difficult it can be to find the right help at the right time. Our foundation was started to make that process easier by providing support, guidance, and resources to those who need it.
Our vision is to build a strong recovery community where individuals feel supported, families feel heard, and no one feels alone while searching for help.
Our Purpose
Healing Roots Foundation exists to:
Relieve conditions associated with substance use disorder and mental health challenges by providing peer support, recovery navigation, referral, and family support services;
Advance public education about addiction, recovery, and mental wellness through community workshops, presentations, and educational resources; and
Relieve the distress experienced by family members and loved ones of individuals affected by substance use, through education, peer connection, and practical guidance
Relieve financial hardship associated with recovery by providing bursary support, based on demonstrated need, to individuals in New Brunswick accessing qualified recovery-related services.
Our Approach
We take a peer support and community-based approach to recovery. Our programs are grounded in lived experience and delivered by volunteers and facilitators who understand the recovery journey firsthand. We do not provide clinical treatment or medical services — we help people find and access the services that are right for them.
Our Partners
Healing Roots Foundation is an independent charitable organization with its own Board of Directors, governance policies, financial records, and decision-making authority.
From time to time, we collaborate with other community organizations — including Hidden Secret Recovery Inc. — where doing so helps us connect people to recovery resources. Any such collaboration:
Is approved independently by our Board of Directors;
Does not give any partner organization control over our programs, finances, or decision-making; and
Is documented in a written agreement.
We may refer individuals to a variety of qualified service providers in the community. No one is ever required to use a specific provider, and our funding and program decisions are made solely by Healing Roots Foundation based on charitable need.
Hidden Secret Recovery Inc. is also the sponsor of our annual Car Show Fundraiser. As with all sponsorships, this arrangement is approved by our Board, does not give the sponsor any role in how funds are used, and does not affect our program or funding decisions.
