Family Programming Workshop - Sept 19th

12 pm - 3 pm, Latimore Lake Community Center, Saint John, NB

Healing Roots Foundation is proud to offer our Family Programming Workshop, with programming created by the clinical staff at Hidden Secret Recovery and powered by Healing Roots Foundation.

Addiction does not affect only one person — it impacts the entire family. This workshop is designed to provide families, loved ones, and support people with education, practical tools, greater understanding, and a supportive space to learn.

Topics may include:

• Understanding addiction and recovery
• Healthy boundaries
• Supporting without enabling
• Communication
• Rebuilding trust
• Family roles and dynamics
• Self-care for loved ones
• Navigating the recovery journey as a family

This workshop is FREE to attend.

Voluntary donations to Healing Roots Foundation are very much appreciated and help us continue offering accessible family and recovery supports within our communities.

  • Arrive, get settled, and meet other families in a warm, welcoming space.

  • Learn about addiction and how families can build strength and resilience together.

  • A short pause to stretch and recharge.

  • Share experiences and hear from others on the same journey, in a supportive group setting.

  • Another short pause before the afternoon activities.

  • A guided exercise to explore your own identity and experience.

  • Ask questions and get answers in an open, judgment-free format.

  • Relax and connect informally with other participants over coffee.

  • Wrap up the day and take home a Family Programming booklet and resource cards to keep.
